The Homer Township Assessor's Office serves all of Homer Township. This includes most of the Village of Homer Glen and parts of the City of Lockport and the Village of New Lenox.. 

 

If you were born in 1943 or earlier you may be eligable for the Senior Citizen homestead Exemption  & the Senior Citizen Assessment  Freeze

The Homer Township Assessor Karen Szynkowski was first elected Assessor in 2001 but has worked in the office since 1990. Karen has obtained the State's Certified Illinois Assessing Officer designation and has well over 200 hours of continuing education. She is President of the Will County Assessor's Association. Karen has lived in & served the Township her entire life and is the first person to serve as an assessor for Homer Township in a full time capacity. From 1990 through 1993 Karen served in her first elected capacity for the Township as the Homer Township Tax Collector.
